POTENTIAL FRAUD, BE AWARE:

We are getting a lot of emails and phone calls from our current and potential customers asking how to not become a victime of the fraud and don’t loose money when trying to buy a kitten/puppy. Here are few advices how to save your money and receive a healthy animal from the seller:

Red flags for the kitten/puppy buyer:

1 Seller wants to get the payment via MoneyGram, Western Union.

2 Seller is asking for the payment by PayPal but wants you to send It as a payment for friends/relatives. Buyer can’t get money back by filling a dispute if seller doesn’t ship a kitten or ship wrong/sick kitten. Never pay for the kitten using MoneyGram and WesternUnion (payment for friends/relatives)

3 Seller doesn’t have address, phone number listed on web site and respond to you only via email. Or they use a Skype to call you back and buyer can’t call seller to ask any questions. It means seller is trying to hide the contact info. Red flag!

4 Kitten/puppy price is too low compare to other kittens on the market. Scammers trying to attract your attention by posting beautiful animals with the price way below market price. For example: you see same kittens listed for 2000 dollars and one of the sellers offering the same, or almost the same kitten for 500 dollars. Buyer thinks, why should I pay 2000 dollars if I can get that kitten for just 500? Reality is: you will loose 500 and never receive the kitten.

How to check if seller is legit?

1 Ask for the pet dealer license copy. Sometimes scammers using stolen pet dealer licenses - you can check if the phone listed on the license matching with the seller info on USDA web site.

2 To check if seller is registered with BBB (better business bureau). Check seller reviews on BBB and rating

3 To check if seller is registered with Google and check if seller has enough reviews and they don’t look like fake reviews

4 Ask if seller accepts credit cards, PayPal (payment for goods/services) - scammers never accept these method of payments.

5 To check if seller is registered with Instagram/Facebook , to check if seller has a lot of posts, subscribers there.

6 Ask seller for clients references - call these people to check if they are happy with the kittens they received from the seller

7 Ask seller to make a video of the kitten with list of paper with your name and todays date - but be careful, that method doesn’t provide 100% protection for you - smart scammers steel pictures of the kittens from the legit sellers and just forward your request to them . Legit seller will record a video and scammer will fool
